Snacking Your Way to Better Health

Great article on the health benefits of nuts today on nytimes.com:

Martha Stewart Living says "...possibly the world's best pistachios."
Martha Stewart Living Magazine LOVES our pistachios! In the June 2013 issue, the magazine published a wonderful article about one of the chefs who loves our pistachios, too—Jeff Cerciello from Farmshop. Jeff visited his favorite foodie farms in California, including Santa Barbara Pistachios! Thank you, Jeff (and Martha!) for your much-appreciated appreciation of our pistachios.

Edible Santa Barbara

We were delighted by the article "It's Raining Pistachios in Cuyama," written by Nancy Oster for Edible Santa Barbara Magazine for their Fall 2011 issue. The kind folks at Edible have given us permission to post the article here. You can read all about how we grow and process our pistachios. plus see photos of our farm, our trees, our store and (a very focused) Tristan Zannon. (Just click on the cover image at left or click here to download a pdf of the full article.)

Since our first harvest in 1995, and our first Organic crop certified by CCOF in 2007, Santa Barbara Pistachios has produced the highest quality all natural pistachios available. That means we do thing differently from other pistachio purveyors:

  • We only sell what we grow;
  • We brine our pistachios with wholesome Organic, Kosher-Certified ingredients instead of spraying on the flavor;
  • We hot air dry, rather than flame roast, our pistachios at a low temperature to retain their natural buttery flavor and nutritional value;
  • We hand sort and pack daily to make sure they are farm fresh when you receive them.

And that's how we always do it. We hope you taste and enjoy the difference.

P.S. We continue to sell to you and your friends online, send pistachios all the way to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at stands in local Farmers markets.
